How To DeBrick an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3

The other day my friend had an AT&T Samsung galaxy s3 that was fully bricked. Meaning the phone wouldn't turn on. The Samsung Galaxy S 3 wouldn't go into download mode or recovery. The flagship device was just fully bricked. So I took it upon myself to do a little research and found out that there are possibilites to fix a bricked Samsung Galaxy s3 from AT&T.

First off you need to have a fresh micro sdcard or a newly formatted sdcard and a card reader for the computer to read the micro sdcard. Now I used a 16 GB card cause that's what the internal storage was on this phone. If it's a 32 GB internal storage phone I would recommend a 32GB micro sdcard.

Once you have the micro sdcard in the card reader slot  for your computer you need to put the reader into The computer and search for the AT&T Debrick file from your AT&T or who ever carrier you might have and your model number. You can find the debrick file for at&t at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068 . Scroll down to you see the I747 debrick file zip download. Download  that to your computer. Once you've downloaded the debrick file for your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 you need to have the windows 32 disk imager which is located HERE.

What you need to do is install the windows 32 disk imager. Open the imager up having the micro sdcard already in the computer. Once you have the disk imager open locate to you find The AT&T debrick file on your computer. Once located make sure on the drop down box in the windows 32 disk imager that it shows that it's going to your sdcard . There is a drop down box in windows disk imager where it shows where its going to write the file to. It might have a letter for instance the letter H make sure you double check on my computer and check what letter your micro sdcard represents. Most likely it will be matched with the right letter .

Once you've matched it with your sdcard click write. Wait til its finished. Then close it out. Once you've done that take the sdcard reader out of the computer. Then take the micro sdcard put it back into your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3. Put the battery back in and then put the back cover back on. what you need to do now  is hold the volume down button the home button and power button all at the same time.

If you get a vibration and it goes into download mode you've successfully managed to write the file correctly. If not don't worry about it  just repeat all the steps again making sure your micro sdcard is reformatted as well. Once you're in download mode your going to have to have Odin installed which you Can find on XDA here. http://www.downloadodin.info/download-odin-1-85. Download that file and extract it you can actually download Odin and the firmware  first before you actually go thru the whole process of downloading the debrick file. Plug your phone into the computer. When your phone is plugged into your computer you should see drivers being installed. Let the drivers install completely before your next step.

Now Open up Odin of your drivers were installed correctly you should see a yellow com with a number in the box. It can be any number just has to be a yellow box if your using Odin 1.85 se Odin applications have a blue box. Once you have Odin opened up and your phone is   into download mode Now you need to locate The firmware for your device which you can find at XDA developers site which I recommend for all your questions or info for your smart phone. The firmware for AT&T is found here  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789917.

Go down til you see the tar file for your device. This is if you haven't had the OTA 4.4. If you have had the 4.4. OTA update just use the other tar file that is found on the page. So locate the tar file that will be for 4.3 . So what you wanna do is download the file an extract the file til you  get the tar.md5 file . Having  Odin opened up make sure your com port is yellow in the box its very important  hit the PDA slot on Odin locate the AT&T tar file for 4.3 firmware , click on the file and hit open make sure repartition is not checked on Odin and  click start. Let Odin work it's work and  do not touch the phone. It  should take about ten minutes or so and when the download is completed  the phone will reboot and you will have a new Samsung Galaxy S3 working right out of the box .

Good luck ! I hope this was very useful for use of you out there I know I probably would've thrown it away or sent it out to get fixed or spent 600-800 dollars buying a new smartphone so I hoped this has helped . Don't give up like I said earlier it might not work the first time to get the phone turned on and into download mode but try again from the beginning and it will work you should have no problems with it as I was able to have it on into download mode on my first attempt.

At&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

The AT &T Samsung Galaxy S 5 is  a great phone don't get me wrong but wouldn't it be 100% better if you had full control of your phone. That'd right the opportunity to root your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5. Why I'd it such a problem for AT&T to have a locked boot loader. Shouldn't you be able to have the right to do whatever you want with your flagship device. So if you wanna void your warranty then let us decide to void the warranty and most people that root there device know what they're doing and if they don't it's easy to learn. Will there ever be root for the device I'm pretty pissed off you have a $ 650 phone that can just make calls and text. Big deal I can have a dumb phone and do the same thing and is it fair to have half your phone with AT&T bloatware apps on your device to use almost half of your storage. Come on At&T if I could have it my way I'd have everyone who is interested in rooting the phone to take the dam phone back cause of right now I enjoy owning the Samsung Galaxy S 3 and have the capability to customize your own phone. You deserve it you pay for it Evey month and also pay for the expensive phone for what to make a telephone call and text get real and smart in up At&t or you'll lose a lot of customers. Thanks to T-mobile and sprint along with a free others were can make it happen I guess there one thing to do is to buy a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 and throw an AT&T Sim card in it or better yet come it with a developer flagship Galaxy S5 for people that wanna develope after all that's what's so great about Android right? Tell me what you think maybe there is something we can do. My hope now is on Chainfire with the brains of the operation go Super Su

Need Code for sim unlock for Verizon to At&t Galaxy S 4 ?

Well all I hear or see is people telling you that you need to pay a certain amount for a code to unlock your Sim to a different carrier . Well in my case I didn't by it I just used my own knowledge first before
Throwing money out The window .Sure enough I took a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 nice security by the way took the Verizon S 4 went to settings mobile network changed The setting to global  then went into the APN settings  and for name : At&t put whatever you want under that At&t uses phone but I use "pta" for LTE setting . Make it easier for ya

   Name: AT&T
   APN: pta
  MMSC: http:// mmsc.mobile.att.net
 MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
 MMS Port: I used 8080
  MCC: 310
  MNC: 410
 Authentication type: none
 Apn Type: default,mms,supl

Once I put that in after I put the sim card in give it a minute I actually restarted the phone went back in to check the settings again. Just make sure its on global and use those apn settings and there you have it data and phone calls worked perfectly .Might work on other phones but guaranteed fully working on a Verizon S 4 with AT&T sim without any code or money out of your pocket .

First what you wanna do is head over to the +xda-developers  website and search for your phone model and carrier. How to Restore to Stock on your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III

In some cases you might wanna return to stock on your samsung galaxy s III whether it is to return to the factory for warrenty purposes or just to start over with a clean swipe on your phone to clean up your phone from all your files.Well i am gonna show you how to do just that.First you will need to download your firmware for AT&T and you can find it here .After you have downloaded your firmware you wanna extract it to your desktop which is just an easy place to find your file.Once extracted you will get a tar md5 file.Great now that you have accomplished that you will wanna download Odin which is a download tool for samsung devices which you can find here . Now that you have downloaded your Odin file do the same as you did with your firmware extract it to your desktop where now you will see an application for Odin. What i normally do to make it easier is make a new folder and put the Odin application you have extracted and the firmware you extracted into the same folder.Just makes it easier to locate. Now that you have done that were ready to bring you back to stock. First make sure you have the latest drivers for your computer you can google that but most of the time by plugging in your phone with usb debugging enabled it usually installs the drivers for you. Now that we got that out of the way open up your Odin applicationwhich should be on your desktop open that up and don't get over whelmed but just make sure re-partition is not checked in the box leave everything else the same.Your gonna have to put your phone into download mode by simply holding volume down button center home button and power button all at the same time when you see a new screen pop up hit volume up now that you have your phone into download mode plug your phone into the computer and you shall see a light blue box light up in your com box or yellow if it is not lit up something is wrong and have to re install your drivers. When you see that the com box is lit up click the PDA button on the right side click that and it shall direct you to the firmware tar md5 file if you created a new folder on your desktop i mentioned if not locate it open that up and it should now appear by the PDA section and once you've now seen that by the PDA section hit start give it about ten to fifteen minutes and let it work all the way through and reboot your phone and now you have done it your back to stock on your At&t samsung galaxy s III

How to to recover your Soft brick Samsung Smart Phone

In some cases like myself you download over and over different custom Roms  or have to root over and over or there may be a bad file and some times leads to a soft brick where you cant get to using your phone and your stuck on a logo on your phone and cant get out of it.There are some possible ways in one of the ways I'm gonna demonstrate by showing you is using Odin. That's right the download tool for samsung Odin. Now check to see on which you would use for your different model phone but this is for Samsung phones only Odin you might be able to use for certain other phones but this is for samsung phones only. What you wanna do is put your phone in download mode which is volume down button power button and center home all at the same time once in download mode or in download mode hit volume up .It tells you to hit volume up to move on or volume down to cancel.hit volume up. Now that you have gotten your phone into download mode your gonna wanna head over to the +xda-developers  thread to your firmware stock firmware that is and download your specific carriers firmware.Once downloaded you want to extract the file to make sure once you extracted that file you get an md5 tar file if not something went wrong and try again to extract it or download the file again. Now that you have that all set it is time to download Odin just google it and you will find Odin. This is very easy to do once you downloaded Odin open it up everything in Odin should basically be all set up just make sure re-partition is not checked next to it.Once in Odin you can plug your phone into your computer through the usb port and when doing so you should see a box that is now blue or yellow lit up in the com box if not you have to re install drivers for your computer to recognize your phone i don't mention drivers cause now a days most computers for windows anyways downloads the drivers when you initially plug your phone into your computer. Now that we see a yellow or blue color in the box were ready to proceed.First thing is to click the PDA button in Odin once connected and Odin is opened and when you click the PDA button you will now find where you downloaded and extracted the firmware for your carrier.Make sure its a tar md5 file when you scroll to find that file click on it or open it  to now it will be next to the PDA slot in Odin.Make sure again re-partition is not checked.Once you tar md5 file is next to the PDA slot hit start that's it let it go by itself it should take ten to fifteen minutes let it reboot after and your all done and phone is fixed.I have to warn you that all data is erased  and its like having a new phone so make sure you always have your  stuff backed up to retrieve anything after

How to recover your android smart phone from a soft brick or bootloop

For those of you who are not familiar with a soft brick or a boot loop on your android smart phone is where you restart your phone and your smart phone is stuck on your logo and cannot recover from a full system restart meaning your phone is caught in a boot loop where you can not do anything but restart your phone again and again and it gets stuck on the logo and cannot get to the functionality of your phone to be usable. Well I'm gonna show you how to recover your phone from doing such a thing and recover your phone in good working standard. If you don't have your phone backed up and don't have a custom recovery installed  well this is for you.For those of you that already have a custom recovery chances are you know how to get out of this one already chance you don't depending on the phone you have most of the time you hold volume up button and power button along with center home button all at the same time to enter your recovery .When your in recovery make sure you have a back up and wipe data factory reset and wipe both dalvic and cache partitions.Once you have done that you can restore a back up you have created or if you don't have a back up  now you can reboot or restart  system. Most of the time that will get you out of your problem stuck on your logo screen or boot loop which ever you wanna call it or soft brick.Soft brick is a term used where you can at least get into recovery or download mode when using your phone.Hard brick well means your done where you cant do anything with it.So what i just explained to you is where you have a custom recovery what you can do to get out of a boot loop. Some cases with stock recovery you can do the same thing except just do a factory reset and reboot to see if it helps. If none of the above has helped you there is a way to save your phone.Odin. Check out my next post on how to recover soft brick using Odin

How to Root your Android smart phone using Odin

One of the easiest ways to root your device is by using Odin. Here is a little tutorial on how to root your device using Odin.Every device varies so make sure you check out in +xda-developers  thread for your model and carrier for the proper way.In this case i am gonna show you for the samsung galaxy s 3 model. In my last post i mentioned CF-AUTO ROOT by +Chain fire in my case since i have AT&T as my variant i will look for CF-Auto root for AT&T samsung galaxy s 3 over @xda developers website. There are a few things that you will need to root your phone. If you don't know what root is head over to my other post.Things you will need is a computer your phone, phone charger that came with your phone to plug into your computer  the CF-auto root file for your carrier and model of your phone and Odin the download tool for samsung devices if you don't have a samsung device look into your thread in xda and they will let you know what you need to know to be able to root your phone.First thing you wanna do is download either the Odin tool or the CF-AUTO ROOT file. Then download the other one second. Most of the time with CF-AUTO ROOT Odin is already in the CF-AUTO ROOT .Odin download http://turbobit.net/uo8uwsecicbq.html
I forgot to mention make sure your drivers are up to date for your computer to recognize your phone..OK next you wanna download the CF-AUTO ROOT for your make and model which you can find in the thread Here .Make sure once you download the Odin and CF auto root you extract each file.To make it simple i just put it on my desktop. To make things even easier i create a new folder on my desktop and put my Odin and CF auto root in one folder that way when you have to navigate to the file its easy to navigate to it.When you extract the CF auto root file you should see a cf auto root ...md5 file or tar file that's what you want if you don't something went wrong and try again. Now that you have extracted these files next up is to power off your phone so we can put the phone into download mode .Every phone may vary just using the smasung Galaxy s 3 as an example .
To put your phone  into download mode you wanna hold volume down ,power button and center home button all at the same time til you see a warning sign or download mode once you see that hit volume up now your ready to begin.I just wanna say you will void  your warranty but if you do enough research you ll find ways around it I'm not gonna explain that to you.So your phone is in download mode next open the Odin you extracted and Odin now appears don't get over whelmed its very basic .When your in Odin you  will see a box which says PDA on it click on PDA and a second window will open up navigate to the cf auto root md5 tar file if you created a folder which i explained it should be right there for you.Once located click on it to open it up now you should see it in your PDA slot now that it is in the PDA slot plug your phone into your computer having your phone in download mode plug it in and a yellow or blue box should light up with com in the box.If it is not lit up your drivers need to be updated or try a different com port do not proceed til its lit up.Once the com box is lit up and your cf auto root is in the PDA section checked make sure re-partition is not checked everything else should be checked .
Now that you looked over everything and its in place hit start let Odin use its tool and let Odin finish what its doing you can look by looking at the top left corner of how its going  and the process make sure you let it finish and make sure your phone reboots or restarts for that matter and after it reboots you can close out Odin and UN plug your device and see in your apps you should now have super su if so you are rooted congratulations your now off to customizing anything you want to your smart phone .I will have a video thanks to Xda developers for there hard work and dedication and will be using a video made by them to show you a couple methods for rooting your samsung galaxy s 3 variants. Here's the video on How to root your Samsung galaxy S 3

What is root and how you root your mobile smart phone on android

Ever wonder how to root your android device or root is for your device? Well root gives you special permissions for your device just like you would have for your computer as an admin. With root on your android smart phone you can customize your phone to its fullest capabilities. With root you can download different Rom's "firmwares" for your device if you do not like the stock firmware it comes with your phone you can change it to whichever ROM"firmware" to your liking. With custom Rom's you can customize your phone by changing the colors of your notification buttons invert certain apps back up your apps with your data restore your missing apps with data back up your ROM or firmware in your custom recovery where you do most of your installing of your Rom's and back ups .Plus there's much much more.I mean why not have a phone that has so much capability not to use the phone to the most of its capability. This all comes down to having one thing.Root!Full control over your phone.I will say that you will void your warranty but if you search deep enough there is ways to avoid losing your warranty if something was to happen to your phone.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S 3 and the first thing i did is root my phone.Once i rooted my device i was addicted .I couldn't get off my phone. Thanks to +xda-developers they had everything you needed for your phone. There were so many custom Rom's for your device if there was a problem with your phone there would be a solution to fix what was wrong with it. The website also had information about your phone i mean they had everything hats off for there hard work and there free time to help others.Helping out the android community just awesome people .To find your phone model and carrier all you do is type in your model number in the box and search away and its there.
There are many methods  to rooting  your phone but i found this one that is very simple to do.Rooting methods may vary so depending on your type of phone make sure to check on your type of phone for the correct method but most that use the method i use  and that i support and paid for some of hiss apps go by  the name +Chainfire known for his "SUPERSU" app needed to root your phone for root access..So what you need to do to root your phone is head over to http://www.xda-developers.com/ and head over to your model of your carrier. In my case i would type in at&t samsung galaxy s 3 thread. What you wanna look for is CF-Auto root by +Chain fire .Download the file and extract it to your desktop where it is easy to locate.Once you have extracted the file you need to use the download tool Odin used for many samsung devices you might need to check on how to use other download tools for different devices this i know works for samsung.Once you download Odin you open it up and hit the PDA button to then find the file you extracted for CF-auto route which is a md5 tar file.once located click on the md5 file open it and it will end up on the PDA slot in Odin .once you see its in the PDA section make sure your phone is turned off then put your phone into download mode by holding volume down the power button and the home button all at the same time and when you see your in the download mode screen hit volume up it tells you right on it .Once its in download mode plug your phone into your computer making sure you have a colored box in the com box after that hit start and let it do its magic and when its finished and reboots or restarts your phone you are rooted.I will explain in full depth on using Odin and the procedure i used in detail to not get confused in my next post. For samsung s 3 people i will have a video for you thanks to +xda-developers  on a few easy methods on how to root your samsung galaxy s 3 variants including the cf-auto root i used by +Chain fire .Good luck and check out my more in depth post on rooting your phone with Odin.

The ability of Android over Apple

The reason why i choose android over apple Is That android you can do just about anything to your phone. The customization of using android is just endless.I use to have an i phone and switched to android and have never turned back. With android you can do just about anything to your phone by rooting your phone and downloading any custom firmware of your choice. Thanks to +xda-developers You can find all the information to make that happen.I am not saying i phone is a bad phone but really besides text and making calls what else can it do. people get so hyped up over the i phones  i just cant figure out why.Every time a friend i know get an i phone i always ask why? what is so good about them. With android you can basically change anything on that particular phone whether its changing  the lock screen to adding a different color to the notification buttons.I would love to hear some opinions on this to see what you think is better and why.
